4 people 4 lines
We expanded the definition of Haiku a bit so all of us could participate in the game. 5.5.7.5.
Each person writes a line without seeing preceding ones. We like to gussy up "to go" box covers while waiting on the check.

Windows are going in
The big windows are going in.
Update - the reason that the middle one is missing is because the manufacturer is going to rebuild it. The one we got delivered was built backwards. To fit the hole, it would have the in side, out.

My stolen bike is replaced
After shopping, dropping the topic and shopping some more, I settled on a bike. Today was my first commute to work on it and I'm really happy with the speed and nimble feel. I got a Gary Fisher Monona. It was built to be a commuter bike through and through. This is a nice ending to the loss I was feeling from my bike getting stolen out of the Whole Foods Garage. I hate bike thieves, and I wish the stolen bike serial numbers would be made available on the web by the police, so it would be harder to sell them. "Seller beware, you might get punched in the nose." Nice ring to it, huh?

Roof rafters are going up
Roof rafters are going up despite the Edwardo threat. A false threat so far, but I don't want to taunt him.

Catherine's house is our house
We're renting our friend Catherine's fully furnished house for two months, we moved in today. She was nice enough to vacate over to her fella's house to make room for us. Catherine is an art conservator and from an art-family. I'm having a great time just sitting on her couch and looking at her stuff. This will be fun, not only because working from home / dogs / construction guys don't mix, but I get to explore some else's books and music collection all the while.
Here's part of my view from her couch, I'm looking forward to long talks with the apparently Picasso inspired snake hunter to the left of the fireplace:

Niece visits her grandfather's grave
She was so earnest in removing the grass around the edges of his headstone and seemed immersed in the moment that all people hope to feel when visiting a grave.
